Arturo Encinas is an American actor of Mexican descent, raised in the Southern most part of the U.S., the border town of Calexico, California (Yes, it’s in the U.S, lol). He is of Jewish, Italian and French Ancestry. Living in an impoverished border town where drugs and gangs are rampant. There’s a lack of resources for the Arts, that is why Arturo co-founded The Border Players Theatre group so the community could have a unique theatre experience and an awareness of theatre culture.
With recent co-star appearances with Jon Voight in Ray Donovan, co-Starring with Jamie Lee Curtis in Scream Queens and in HBO’s Westworld. Arturo also enjoys playing the recurring male lead in Telemundo’s soap operas, he was also in the season finale episode of Matador and was directed by Robert Rodriguez and co-starred with the lead, Gabriel Luna (Terminator).
In addition to television, he was featured in Straight Outta Compton (2015) and has starred as the lead in films such as Inimicus (Amazon Prime), Cross Addiction, and White Lines.
In college Arturo won the National medal for his acting performance in the Phi Roe Pi Forensic National Championship in Portland, Oregon.
He went on to win the best actor award in The International Modeling & Talent association.
He studied at Playhouse West under Robert Carnegie, San Francisco State’s Theatre program and Televisa’s CEA in Mexico City. He was also mentored by acting Professor Richard Feldman at Juilliard when he was a finalist there.
Arturo Encinas was captain of his school’s football team and won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for his hard work, perseverance, and talent on the field. Now he works hard to win Most Valuable Actor.
